BARRIQUAND TECHNOLOGIES THERMIQUES is a specialist in heat exchangers for industry in the widest sense, and offers two different types of technology:

  • Welded plate exchangers (WPHE)
  • Conventional plate and frame exchangers (PHE)

These exchangers are designed and manufactured in accordance with thermal data specific to each application and individual specifications from each customer.
Annual turnover amounts to €15 million, with more than 70% being for products exported to all parts of the world. Customers' fields of activity include:

  • Chemicals, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals,
  • Food processing
  • Mineral processing industry
  • HVAC
  • Energy recovery in industry in general.

The Barriquand group

The BARRIQUAND group consists of three companies, with a total staff of 250, specialising in specific product lines, all derived from heat exchange technologies.
ASET (tube exchangers) in Lyons, BARRIQUAND TECHNOLOGIES THERMIQUES (plate exchangers) and BARRIQUAND STERIFLOW (sterilisation autoclaves) in Roanne have independent organisations but offer complementary products: this ensures a high level of synergy for the benefit of clients.

Our heat engineers are specialised in specific fields of activity, so they fully understand the needs of each market and guarantee the effectiveness of the solutions they propose.

    We are convinced that the key to success lies in developing all the skills and resources needed to design, study, manufacture and test our exchangers within the group. This means relying on trained and experienced personnel as well as significant investment in research, development and production. Location and plant

The company's head offices and production site are located at Roanne, 100 km west of the city of Lyons in France.
The site covers about 25 000m2, and is shared with Barriquand Stériflow.
BARRIQUAND TECHNOLOGIES THERMIQUES occupies 600m2 of office space and 8750m2 of roofed workshops serviced by 12 travelling cranes.
At the end of 2003, 95 highly qualified people, including 20 senior managers, were working at BARRIQUAND TECHNOLOGIES THERMIQUES, covering the fields of sales, R&D, design studies, purchases and administration, production and ancillary services.
Constant investment ensures that the company uses cutting-edge technology.

History of the company

  • The company was founded in Roanne in 1936 by boiler-makers André and Johanès Barriquand.
  • Right from the start, it built stainless steel tanks, and then began specialising in dyeing autoclaves.
  • From 1950 onwards, welded plate exchangers were developed for the chemicals industry.
  • First sterilisation autoclave in 1975
  • Organisation into product lines in 1991
  • ISO 9001 since 1994
  • Société par actions simplifiée with a capital of €1 727 000 in 2002
